The Bible, which is the holy book for Jews and Christians, has been translated to almost all known languages, and presented in all the media available. E-sword is an attempt to bring the Word of God to people of the 21st century using the new computerized media.

The program is more than a simple Bible reader. It has several advanced features that can make your Bible study easier. First of all, you can download several modules containing different versions of the Bible. Many of them are free, while others are payment-based. This allows you to compare two versions at once using the Compare feature of the program. Also, you can download commentaries, references and other useful texts for complementing your study.

The core program comes with two versions of the King James Bible, one of them containing the Strong's Numbers which are cross-references and definitions of many Bible words, along with their Jewish or Greek roots. The program also has space for taking notes using many of the tools of the most popular word processors. The interface of e-Sword is very intuitive and easy to use, so you don't need to be a computer expert to use it.
